Merry Christmas! This is a design I created for the upcoming holidays. The background I used a pine tree needle detail in large size. It all came together with the color swatches. The colors of red, green and white just gives it the Christmas spirit. I had included a QR code that is a holiday greeting to Christmas with my voice. 

The most hardest part was picking out the background. With the proper background, it'd really give it a imagination of how we are getting near Christmas. There were some difficulty with adjusting the text but, I overcame it eventually. I learned from my errors and adapted to it. I hope my design could show my techniques.

Logo Design: Termite

Logo Design: Termite 

My logo design is based on Colony Termites. For each of the designs, I made sure include a termite. The main object is termite otherwise, people wouldn't know what's the point to the sign. The logo design is in black and white so it can really show the termite including the typography. The font was hand-made and then touched up by Adobe Illustrator program. 

The challenging part about the logo design was sketching and color. If I had left the insect in white then the background when the termite is already white then, it would blend it instead of showing which is why I put black strokes. The most challenging part about the design was sketching which relied a lot of creativity. Without creativity there is no art.  I hope my logo design will be for the best because of all the hard work I did.

Save Water

Why is it a concern to conserve water?

• Each of us are depending on water to live.
• 97% of the water on Earth is salt water, it's our responsibility to keep it pure.
• Water is a resource that provides us the ability to live with foundations of food. 

What should we do?

• One: We can save water from taps by turning off the facuet when your doing your daily activities such as brushing your teeth for an example.
• Two: You can conserve more water by taking shorter showers.
• Three: We check if we have leaks in our faucet to conserve water. 

Why is it a cause of concern for family households? 

• We need water for our plants but, its unhealthy for plants.
• Don't use toliet as ashtray.
• Check for leaking around the house.

Why should we care?

• In the future, we will probably run out of water because there is only 99.7% of Earth water that can't be supplied to everyone.
• If we save water then we can save a child from water related disease.
• 84 millions of people and consuming unimproved water sources. 

Why I should care?

• I want the world to flourish and not be polluted.
• I don't want to die young over lack of water.
• I would like people to survive with lots of water.

Pre-Designs and Sketches
-This is before my final draft of my 'Save Water' project. It took a lot of editing, fails and development before it was published. It describes the percentage people waste and solutions on how to resolve wasting water. The world is not big enough all, everyone needs to provide a little bit of help.

Final Draft

-This is the final draft of the 'Save Water' project. It took me some thoughts on the design but, I still managed to think of the importances of how to save water and what it can lead us. By saving water, you are literally allowing your next generation to experience what you have to drink in order to live which is water. 

 

Pictograph: Fashion Pictograph Series!

The theme I tried creating my pictograph concentrated on fashion field. My design had t-shirt, dress, boots, high heels and accessories. Each design has their own unique look. The background is suppose to be a like pattern with strokes that are make the concept standout. It really matter on how much patiences you put in to make the finishing touch.

In the beginning, I had a difficult time choosing the appropriate swatches with only 3 colors. My concept on fashion really relied on how I designed and how I can make it stand out. If I chose 3 colors that did not fit together, then it would've ruined the concept of a outstanding fashion pictograph. The swatches I chose in the end were precisely to create a fresh new look. The brand new look takes a lot of thinking before completion.

My selected series of my 12 refined fashion pictographs icon are ready presented as shown. The completion of the fashion pictograph took a lot of fails and sketches before finalizing. Each design were made with sweat. But, it was worth the handwork knowing I tried my best. The concept all came together smoothing after I have cleaned it up a bit.

This weeks: Toon Character!

The cartoon characters that most inspires me include:
Monster Inc.
It was inspired from the character in Monster Inc. Mike Wazowski. In the movie, Mike Wazowski tries to do his job as a assistant for Sulley. He's best friend with the top scarer Sulley and at the end of the day, he almost lost his job thanks to a little kid named, Boo and Sulley. My character on the other hand is girly and playful. This character was really unique because she is nothing like Mike Wazowski!

My development of my character took a large amount of time on what inspired me. Inspiration came from either watching movies, listening to music or even art. My difficulties weren't just being inspired but also, what should I name my character. It had to be something adorable, cute, girly, playful, funny, happy and good-looking Cyclop. I named her Ella for her first name because the sound of the name appeared girly and it's one of the least common name in my opinion. 

My Turn-Around was refined with different pose. There had to be some adjustments such as the way my toon character stood. Each posture matter in order to make them seem realistic. For an example, the 3/4 position took a long time on adjusting the arm, the eyes and arms so it would seems like a 3/4. It also took a lot of effort to make it seem like she's a realistic toon character that can do come to life. 

The model sheet below had a creative way of showing her emotions. It's how 'Ella the Girly Monster' would interact with others if she was real. She has feelings such as being angry, shocked, happy, playful, confused, sad and being smiley. It also shows her personality as a toon character that kids would enjoy. This will also construct the way she behaviors and her attitude if she were to be real.

The stickers below are finalized after refining the problems and perfecting the errors. Now 'Ella The Girly Monster' is showing what she loves to do or her hobbies. Her hobbies are chasing after the butterflies, watching television and watching the stars. Her emotions also had to fit what was going on in the sticker. The stickers are suppose to show her personality and what represents her as a uncommon girly cyclops.
